Four athletes named to CSC Academic All-District Women's Tennis Team

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Aurora Pedwell, Yahli Noy, Maria Jose Hernandez Diaz, and Natalia Vela of the Bryant University women's tennis team have been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team for 2025. This is each of the student-athletes first CSC Academic All-District team honors.

The 2025 Academic All-District Tennis teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.

 

Pedwell has a 3.74 GPA as a digital marketing major. She went 15-10 in singles, 11-6 in dual matches playing primarily in the No. 5 spot. Pedwell helped the Bulldogs secure their first OVC Championship title with wins over Eastern Illinois and Southeast Missouri in Bryant's playoff run.

Noy, a marketing major, has a 3.68 GPA to end 2024. On the court, she went 18-6 in singles, 14-2 in dual matches playing in the No. 2 spot. Noy held an eight-match winning streak before falling to Duke in the first round of the NCAA championship, including wins over Eastern Illinois, Western Illinois, and Southeast Missouri in the OVC championship bracket. Noy would record a 5-4 doubles record with Caitlyn Munson, playing in the No. 2 spot, and collected wins over Western Illinois and URI. She was also recognized by the OVC on the All-OVC First Team.

Hernandez Diaz has a 3.64 GPA as a business administration major. She went 17-6 in singles, 11-5 in dual matches. Her singles win over Southeast Missouri clinched the OVC Championship title for the Bulldogs. Hernandez Diaz finished the season with a perfect 9-0 doubles record with Natalia Vela, all in dual matches played at the No. 1 spot. She and Vela were named to the All-OVC Doubles Team All-Conference.

Vela, a finance major, has a 3.59 GPA to end 2024. On the court, she went 16-11 in singles, 9-7 in dual matches playing in the No. 1 spot. She posted a perfect 9-0 record in doubles play alongside Maria Jose Hernandez Diaz. The duo played in the No. 1 spot. Vela was also named to the All-OVC First Team with Noy and the All-OVC Doubles Team All-Conference with Hernandez Diaz.

 

Noy, Hernandez Diaz, and Vela were selected as CSC All-America finalists and will advance to the national ballot. Honorees will be announced on June 3rd, 2025.
