- Sam Rohwer hit a lead-off single in the bottom of the second and advanced to third base on a sacrifice bunt. Gracie Bishop then hit a groundout to second base, and Rohwer beat the throw home for the Bulldogs' first run (1-0).
- In the bottom of the third with two outs, Clendenin hit a solo home run to left field (2-0).
- UMass tallied a run in the top of the fifth on a foul out to the left fielder (2-1).
- Laniya Lewis began the bottom of the fifth with a single, setting up Coleman, who hit a two-run home run down the left field line (4-1).
