SMITHFIELD, R.I. – On Saturday, the Bryant University women's basketball team defeated NJIT 71-66 at the Chace Athletic Center.
 
Mia Mancini recorded 20 points, Breezie Williams had 16, making two from deep, and Maranda Nyborg tallied 10.

•  Both teams tallied nine points in the game's first five minutes (9-9). Ali Brigham tallied six, and Mimi Rubino hit one from deep.
• The first quarter ended in a 21-21 tie, with each team recording 12 points.
• It was a closely contested second quarter, as NJIT earned a slight 14-13 edge, resulting in a 35-34 deficit for the Bulldogs. Nyborg led the way with six points, Williams knocked down a shot from deep, and Fernandez posted three points.
• The game continued to be closely contested as NJIT outscored the Black and Gold 14-13, resulting in a 48-48 tie heading into the 4^th quarter.
• The Bulldogs jumped out on a 6-0 run in the first three minutes of the final quarter (54-48). Nia Scott tallied four, and Mancini had two.
• For the next two minutes, Bryant outscored the Highlanders 8-7, giving the Bulldogs a seven-point advantage with four and a half remaining (62-55).
• NJIT countered with a quick 7-0 run, tying the game at 62 with three minutes remaining.
• Bryant then closed out the game on a 9-4 run, which included eight points from Mancini and a clutch block by Scott at the three-point line (71-66).
