THE SERIES

  • Bryant and UConn are meeting for the third time in program history. The Huskies have won both meetings, including a 66-53 victory in the most recent meeting in 2014.
  • The 2014 meeting was the season opener for both teams and marked the first of two-straight years that Bryant faced the defending national champion in the first game (Duke - 2015).
  • Bryant stayed with the Huskies in 2014, leading 34-28 at the break. Dyami Starks led Bryant with 18 points.

BRYANT BATTLES VIRGINIA TECH WEDNESDAY NIGHT

  • Bryant led for 14 minutes in the first half and trailed by six late in the game before finally falling to Virginia Tech, 78-61, on Wednesday night.
  • The Hokies used a 13-0 run late in the first half to take the lead for good.
  • Quincy Allen led four in double figures with 13 points.

  • Quincy Allen grabbed the eyes of the college basketball world on Wednesday with a remarkable windmill dunk off an alley-oop pass from Keegan Harvey.
  • The play started with a back cut by Allen and Harvey tossed the ball up to Bryant's high flyer. Allen caught the ball and proceeded to windmill it home.

  • According to KenPom, Bryant features the nation's tallest team in average height at 79.6''. On the flip side, Bryant ranks 360th out of 365 teams in experience.
  • Timofei Rudovskii continues to lead Bryant in scoring with 12.8 ppg, having reached double figures in all five games this year. 
  • Ashley Sims II has started each of the last three games for the Black and Gold. He is averaging 7.6 ppg, 4.4 rpg and 2.0 apg. Sims has recorded exactly five rebounds in each of the last three games and is averaging 2.1 apg in that span.
  • Jakai Robinson posted his first double-digit scoring output of the season at Virginia Tech, finishing with 10 points in 18 minutes.
  • Joe Green and Gio Sanford both made their collegiate debuts on Wednesday at VT. With their appearance, Bryant has now had 11 freshmen take the court this season.
