MANCINI SCORES 24 AS THE BULLDOGS DEFEAT RIDER FOR 4TH STRAIGHT VICTORY

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women's basketball team defeated Rider 81-57 to improve to 4-0 for the second straight season, which is the first time in program history they have accomplished this.
 
Mia Mancini led all scorers with 24 points, and she made four from deep. Mimi Rubino recorded 15 points, while also hitting four three-pointers. Maranda Nyborg had 16 points in the victory.

How it Happened
  • Both teams tallied eleven points in the first five minutes, with Mancini leading the way with six points and Maranda Nyborg had six, including a hard-fought three-point play where she got two of her own boards before the ball dropped.
  • The Bulldogs would close out the first quarter, outscoring the Broncos 11-5. Mancini hit two from deep, and Mimi Rubino added a step-back triple of her own (22-16).
  • Bryant would register 13 points to begin the second quarter, while Rider tallied 11, giving the Black and Gold a 35-27 lead with 4:32 left in the first half.
  • The Broncos out scored the Bulldogs 5-2 to close out the half (37-32).
