BRYANT TO FACE BROWN FRIDAY NIGHT UNDER THE LIGHTS IN SMITHFIELD

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The Bryant University football team welcomes Brown to Beirne Stadium on Friday night for the final game of a three-game home stand.

Series History

  • Brown leads the all-time series 6-3 and is 4-1 at Beirne Stadium. Last season saw a thrilling victory for the Bulldogs, who defeated the Bears in the final minute of the fourth quarter 42-35. The game saw former Bulldog Landon Ruggieri haul in three touchdowns. 
  • The last eight games between the two teams have been decided by one possession, which is the longest active streak in the FCS.

Bulldogs Notes and Notables

  • Michael Otty has been dominant all season, and last week was no different. Otty posted a career-high four tackles for loss, which brings his season total to 11.5, which leads the CAA and is second in the FCS.
  • Jaden Keefner had a career day on Saturday, recording a career-high two rushing touchdowns and also adding 86 yards on the ground. 
  • Zyheem Collick has shown his big-play ability throughout the year. He tallied 52 yards receiving, which was his fourth game of 50+ yards. He also caught a 47-yard pass, which is the third time he has recorded a reception of 40+ yards.
  • Azarel Juste posted a career-high two pass breakups against the Black Bears. He has four pass breakups in the last three games. Juste also tallied a tackle for loss, which is fourth this year.
  • Brandon Perkins led the Black and Gold with ten tackles last weekend. This was his second game of 10+ tackles this year. He has registered 52 tackles in 2025, which rankes eighth in the conference.

A bit about the Bears

  • Brown heads into Friday with a 2-1 record, and they recently defeated CAA member Rhode Island 28-21 last week.
  • James Murphy threw for two touchdowns on Saturday. He has 519 yards and five passing touchdowns through three games.
  • Matt Childs ran in for two scores last weekend. He leads the Bears with 155 yards and is averaging 48.33 yards per game.
  • Miles Brophy and John Purdue have tallied 26 and 24 tackles for Brown and each have recorded an interception this season.
