BOSTON – Bryant men's basketball fifth-year wing
Quincy Allen was named to the America East Men's Basketball Preseason All-Conference team, while the Bulldogs were picked sixth in the preseason coaches poll on Monday morning.
The Bulldogs are the defending America East Regular Season and Tournament champions but must replace its top six scorers. Allen, a fifth-year transfer from Chicago State, comes to Smithfield looking to help fill the void.
Vermont was picked first with seven first-place votes, while Maine (1 first-place vote) and UAlbany are tied for second. UMass Lowell received the final first-place vote to take fourth, while Binghamton was slotted fifth. UMBC, NJIT and New Hampshire round out the poll.
Bryant finished the 2024-25 with a 23-12 overall record and a 14-2 mark in the America East. The Bulldogs then defeated UMBC, UAlbany and Maine to claim their first America East title in program history, advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in four years.
Allen, along with 12 other newcomers and six returners, will look to get the Black and Gold back to March Madness. A native of Silver Spring, Md., Allen posted 9.6 ppg and 5.6 rpg for Chicago State last season. He was named the Washington D.C. Gatorade Player of the Year in 2021 before beginning his collegiate career at Colorado. After two seasons, Allen spent 2023-24 at James Madison and was part of a Dukes team that made the NCAA Tournament.
Bryant begins its first season under head coach
Jamion Christian on Monday, November 3 at Siena.
