RALEIGH – The Bryant baseball team saw its season come to a close on day two of the NCAA Raleigh Regional as third-seeded James Madison earned a 6-1 victory to advance in the double-elimination regional.
With the loss, the Bulldogs conclude their season with a 36-21 record. Bryant claimed America East Regular Season and Tournament titles to reach its fourth NCAA Tournament in DI program history.
Bryant's bats were held in check by JMU's Hunter Entsminger who struck out seven over 5.2 scoreless in a spot start.
Gavin Noriega drove in Bryant's lone run of the game, while
Carmine Petosa doubled to extended his on-base streak to 60 games.
Mark Scamardella delivered 4.0 scoreless innings of relief. He allowed just two hits, walked one and struck out four.

- The Bulldogs got on the board in the top of the eighth. Zac Zyons walked and Gavin Noriega chopped a ball over the head of the first baseman. The throw into the infield got away, allowing Zyons to score from third.
- JMU, however, answered with four runs in the bottom of the inning to put it away.
