SHREWSBURY, MA - The Bryant University women's rowing team took home two victories and a second place finish at the Assumption Invitational on Saturday morning.
The Black and Gold competed against D'Youville, URI, Wesleyan, and Assumption at the Donahue Rowing Center.
How it Happened
To start the day the Bulldogs boated their Novice 4+ in the first Varsity 4+ race. The lineup of Brooke Hammond (coxswain), Sarah Oakes (stroke seat), Sarah Bullock (3 seat), Calla Puccetti (2 seat), and Monica Garbacz (bow seat) earned a first place finish by almost 36 seconds with their time of 8:04.04.
Bryant then took on the Varsity 8+ event in which they finished second with a time of 7:18.40. In that race, the Black and Gold put out the lineup of Gabrielle Martino (coxswain), Erin Prouty (stroke seat), Megan Hart (7 seat), Mollie Lytje (6 seat), Olivia Manuel (5 seat), Bridget Moore (4 seat), Sunny Kuechle (3 seat), Jordan Grady (2 seat), and Aine McIntyre (bow seat).
To round out the morning, the Bulldogs took on their second Varsity 4+ race of the day. In the final race, Bryant boated the lineup of Brook Hammond (coxswain), Bridget Moore (stroke seat), Megan Hart (3 seat), Mollie Lytje (2 seat), and Sarah Oakes (bow seat). The squad raced a 7:50.59 to take first place by just over 17 seconds.
