Big 2nd half gives Bryant road win against UML

LOWELL, MASS. – The Bryant University women's basketball team defeated Umass Lowell 62-43 on the road.

Mariona Planes Fortuny tallied 25 points and nine rebounds, while Silvia Gonzalez poured in a career-high 17 points and a career-best five made three-pointers.

Nia Scott hauled in 12 boards and posted eight points.

How it Happened

  • The Bulldogs jumped out to an early 6-0 lead before UML responded with an 8-0 run to take the lead at the 5:25 mark.
  • Bryant then tallied 12 to the River Hawks four, giving the Black and Gold an 18-12 advantage at the end of the quarter. Fortuny had eight in the period, Gonzalez hit her first three, Mia Mancini posted five, and Kemari Reynolds made a layup.
  • In the, the Bulldogs went on a 7-5 run (25-17), extending their lead.
  • UML closed out the half on a 14-6 run, shrinking the Bryand advantage to two points at the half (33-31).
