QUEENS – The Bryant men's basketball team went toe-to-toe with St. John's on Wednesday night but a 17-2 second-half run allowed the Red Storm to pull away for a 99-77 victory at Carnesecca Arena.
With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to 6-6 overall on the year. Bryant will face Fordham on Saturday afternoon at Mohegan Sun in Norwich, Conn., as part of the Basketball Hall of Fame Showcase. Tip is set for 2:30 p.m. and will air on CBS Sports Network.
Keyshawn Mitchell posted a double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds, while
Barry Evans chipped in 14 and 9.
Jakai Robinson also finished in double figures, closing with a career-high 13 in a career-high 34 minutes.

- As expected, Pinzon posted the first points of the night in his return. He hit a baseline jumper to get the scoring going.
- A 9-2 would give the Johnnies an 11-6 lead with 16:06 left.
- Bryant would answer, tying the game at 11-11 on a three from the top of the key by Pinzon.
- St. John's would take an 18-14 lead into the under-12 media. Both teams started 5-of-13 from the field.
- Mitchell would shoot Bryant ahead with back-to-back threes. He swished a three to put Bryant down two and then drilled a wing three to give the Bulldogs a 22-21 lead and force a St. John's timeout.
- The Johnnies would answer with a three out of the timeout and five quick points before the under-8 media gave them a 33-27 lead with 6:32 to play.
