Volleyball to host UAlbany on Senior Day

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- The Bryant women's volleyball team returns home for their final regular season game of the year and will host the UAlbany Great Danes on Senior Day. First serve is set for 2:00 pm.

Bulldog Notes and Notables
  • Bryant remains among the NCAA's best in the service game this season. Entering Saturday the Bulldogs are 14th in the nation for service aces with season 192 and average 1.88 aces per set (24th in NCAA).
  • Arianna Ugolini is only one of two players in the America East to eclipse 40 service aces through this point in the year and is second in the conference in the category. (1. Tsvetelina Ilieva, Binghamton: 42).
  • Carrina Barron enters this weekend 1 dig away from her 400th of the season. Barron leads the America East Conference this season in total digs and averages 3.80 digs per set.
  • Bryant is the only team in the conference to have three players in top 10 for kills this season. Arianna Ugolini is 2nd in the league with 311 kills, Aubrey Lapour is 3rd with 298, and Fabi Castro is 10th with 198.
  • Brookelyn Talmadge has put together a terrific sophomore campaign on the defensive side. In 93 sets this season, she has tallied 82 total blocks (0.88/s) and is 7th in the America East.
  • London Hunt has also had a phenomenal season in the middle for the Black and Gold. She is currently 7th in the America East in hitting percentage and is coming off an excellent outing against UMBC where she would tie her career high for blocks with 8.
Scouting the Great Danes
  • The Bulldogs are 6-3 all-time against UAlbany and have a 4-2 record at the Division I level. When the two sides squared off earlier this season, the great Danes would come with the victory in straight sets.
  • Since their last matchup against the Bulldogs, UAlbany has gone 2-3 overall (2-2 in conference) and have earned wins over UMBC and NJIT.
  • Shynelle Woroniuk has excelled offensively for the Great Danes this season. She is currently 5th in the America East for kills this year with 279.
  • Maria Olga Siapani has had a remarkable rookie campaign for UAlbany and currently ranks second in the America East for assists this season with 712 (8.28/s). Siapani is also 3rd on her team in blocks this season with 32.
  • Gabriella Karman (54) and Tori Wilson (52) have anchored the Danes defense this season; combining for over 100 blocks. Brooke Malek leads the team in digs with 239 (4th in America East).
