Volleyball to battle NJIT on Friday

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- The Bryant women's volleyball team heads back on the road and returns to America East play this Friday when they take on the NJIT Highlanders in Newark. First serve is set for 6:00 pm.

Bulldog Notes and Notables
  • The Bulldogs are 6-1 all-time against the Highlanders. Bryant would win in straight sets earlier this season thanks to an outstanding performance by Aubrey LaPour. LaPour would finish the match with 13 kills and 4 blocks.
  • Last time out in Newark the two sides would compete in a five set thriller that saw Bryant come away with the victory. In that match, Arianna Ugolini would post a career high 26 kills and Carolina Camacho would have 32 assists.

  • Ines Valera is third overall in the conference for blocks this season. She currently has 93 total rejections and is averaging 1.08 blocks per set.
  • Freshman Ema Torres has continued to be a force on offense as she currently leads NJIT with 168 kills.
  • Emil Doga is second in the America East for digs this year with 305 (3.55/s).
  • The Highlanders feature two primary setters in their offense. Cece Marino leads the team with 368 assists this year (5.41/s) while Finley Mcandrew has 280 assists (4.44/s).
