SMITHFIELD, R.I. – A pair of fourth-quarter goals lifted Colgate to a 4-2 victory over the Bryant field hockey team on Sunday afternoon at Cowen Field.
Bryant falls to 5-10 overall following the loss. The Bulldogs return to the pitch on Friday at Vermont.
The Black and Gold rallied from 2-0 down to tie the game but Colgate responded with a pair of fourth-quarter goals to earn the win.

- Colgate scored a pair of goals less than three minutes apart in the fourth quarter.
First Quarter
- Dani Palmer opened the scoring with a hard strike in the 5th minute.

- Lily Schoonmaker hammered home a long drive to make it 2-0.
Third Quarter
- Bryant got on the board thanks to a beautiful progression. Filou Verhoeven carried the ball up the right flank and Crowley made a long run down the left flank. Crowley stationed herself at the back post and knocked home a perfect feed from Verhoeven.
Fourth Quarter
- The Black and Gold tied the game 45 seconds into the fourth quarter. Another run down the right side led to a centering ball from Callie Caito. Griffin reached out her stick and deflected it home to tie the game.
- Less than a minute later, Colgate forced a turnover and Morgan Willis knocked home a tight-angle shot to make it 3-2.
- Dani Palmer scored her second of the game after she was able to get around a charging Maud van Lierop and finish in an open cage.
Bryant Notes and Notables
- Bryant falls to 5-10 overall with the loss. The Bulldogs went 2-1 in three games this week.
- Verhoeven picked up her eighth assist of the season. She now has 14 points.
- Griffin scored in all three games this week for the Bulldogs.
- Crowley notched her first collegiate goal. In the process, she becomes the first player in DI program history with a goal and a win as a goalie.
