Volleyball to host UNH and UMBC in weekend homestand

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- The Bryant women's volleyball team returns home this weekend for a two game homestand that will see them take on conference rival UNH and UMBC. Bryant will kick off the weekend against New Hampshire on Friday, October 11th at 7:00 pm for their Dig Pink Game. They will then take on the Retrievers of Maryland Baltimore County on Sunday, October 13th at 1:00 pm.
Bulldog Notes and Notables
  • Bryant currently has three players in the conference Top 10 for kills. Aubrey LaPour is second in the league with 251 kills (3.54 k/s), Arianna Ugolini is fourth overall with 196 kills (3.27 k/s), and Fabi Castro is tenth with 107 kills (2.38 k/s).
  • Ugolini is also leading the America East in service aces with 32 (0.53/s).
  • Carrina Barron remains the conference's leader in digs as she currently has 287 (4.04/s).
  • London Hunt is third in the America East in hitting percentage (.324). She is also ninth overall in total blocks with 48 (0.81/s).
  • Brookelyn Talmadge is seventh in conference for blocks with 54 (0.92).

Scouting the Wildcats
  • UNH enters the weekend at 2-0 in conference play after earning wins over UAlbany and NJIT.
  • Kelly Kaufmann earned Defensive Specialist of the Week honors from the America East after recording 8 blocks (2.7/s) in the Wildcats three-set sweep of NJIT. She is currently first in the conference in average blocks with 1.35 b/s (88 Total).
  • Hannah Serbousek and Meredith Hohnbaum are both in the America East top 10 kills. Serbousek is 8th with 149 kills (2.40/s). Hohnbaum is 9th with 143 (2.47/s).
  • Avery Lepore leads UNH in digs with 243 (3rd in AE).
  • The Wildcats are coached by Christopher Feliciano. He is in his seventh year at the helm.

Scouting the Retrievers
  • The Retrievers began the 2024 season with an incredibly difficult non-conference schedule that saw them face off against three NCAA Top 25 opponents; including No.1 ranked Pittsburgh. Since the start of conference play, they are 3-0 after earning wins over NJIT, Binghamton, and UAlbany.
  • Mia Bilusic was named the America East Player of the Week this past Tuesday. Last week, she averaged 4.6 k/s as well as 2.0 digs/s, and helped UMBC go 2-0.
  • Hannah Dobbs took home conference rookie of the week honors after averaging 4.4 k/s through two matches. In the team's five-set win over UMBC, she had a career and match-high 22 kills.
  • Mila Ilieva currently leads the Retrievers in blocks with 46 (0.92/s).
  • The Retrievers are coached by Kasey Crider. He is in his third year with the team.
