SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- The Bryant University women's tennis team dropped a pair of tight matches over the weekend, falling to UMass and Sacred Heart.

Bryant fell 4-3 to UMass on Saturday before dropping a 4-3 decision to SHU on Sunday.

How it Happened (UMass)

• Bryant won the doubles point against UMass. Manuela Gomez Estrada and Camila Baeza earned a 6-3 victory at No. 1, while a win by default at No. 3 clinched the point.
• In singles, the Minutewomen closed it out with victories at the top four spots. 
• Olivia Rondini battled at No. 4 singles, the spot that eventually determined the match. Rondini won the second set 7-5 to force a third but came up short, 6-1.

How it Happened (Sacred Heart)

• Bryant won at No. 3 doubles but the Pioneers claimed the point with victories at No. 1 and No. 2.
• Bryant evened it up with a victory from Natalia Vela at No. 2.
• Vela won 7-6 in the first set and then closed it out with a 6-0 win.
• Rondini dropped her second set in a 12-10 tiebreak but rebounded to win 6-1 in the third set to make it 2-3.
• Camila Baeza then tied the match at 3-3 with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 6.
• Lisa Marie Dugec, playing at No. 5, won the first set in a tiebreak but Flavia Rambaldi bounced back to win the next two sets and clinch the match.
