BRYANT KNOCKS OFF NO. 10 FAU
Bryant pulled off one of the biggest upsets in program history on Saturday night, ending 10th-ranked Florida Atlantic's 19-game home winning streak with a 61-52 victory. The Bulldogs were facing a veteran group that advanced to the 2023 Final Four. Bryant held FAU to just 5-of-30 from three. Sherif Gross-Bullock and Earl Timberlake paced the upset as each finished with a double-double.
MR. WITHERS
Connor Withers enjoyed a breakout game on Saturday at Stony Brook, scoring a career-high 32 points. He hit 9-of-16 from the field, including 7-of-13 from three. Withers also made all seven of his free throws to produce the first 30-point game of his career.
FIVE MORE THINGS TO KNOW
- Bryant is visiting Cincinnati for the second time in three weeks. The Bulldogs fell to Xavier, 100-75, the day after Thanksgiving.
- Sherif Gross-Bullock is averaging a team-best 16.7 ppg. He has scored in double-figures in all but two games this season and is coming off a season-high six assists at Stony Brook.
- Earl Timberlake has done a little bit of everything this year, entering Tuesday averaging 12.2 ppg, 8.8 rpg, 4.1 apg and 1.2 bpg. He has five games with 10+ rebounds and has flirted with a triple-double on two occasions. Timberlake finished 8-of-10 from the field at Stony Brook and leads Bryant in field goal percentage.
- Daniel Rivera is coming off one of the best all-around performances in DI program history. He finished with 20 points, seven rebounds, four assists and six blocks at Siena, becoming just the 19th player in DI to accomplish that stat line since the 2010-2011 season. In two games last week, Rivera averaged 17.5 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 2.5 apg, 3.0 bpg and 1.0 spg.
- Thanks to his career performance at Stony Brook, Connor Withers is averaging 9.0 ppg to go along with 4.7 rpg, 1.7 apg, 0.8 bpg and 1.3 spg.
