THE SERIES
Bryant and Brown are meeting for the 15th time in DI program history. The Bears own an 11-3 lead in the all-time series following a 72-60 victory last season in Smithfield. Bryant won the most recent meeting in Providence, 65-59, in the 21-22 season. It marked Bryant's first win in the series since 2013. The Bears are 7-1 in the last eight meetings.
BRYANT KNOCKS OFF NO. 10 FAU
Bryant pulled off one of the biggest upsets in program history on Saturday night, ending 10th-ranked Florida Atlantic's 19-game home winning streak with a 61-52 victory. The Bulldogs were facing a veteran group that advanced to the 2023 Final Four. Bryant held FAU to just 5-of-30 from three. Sherif Gross-Bullock and Earl Timberlake paced the upset as each finished with a double-double.
SHARING IS CARING
Bryant has picked up 20+ assists in each of its last two games. The Bulldogs posted 24 in a loss at Xavier and then collected 26 against Springfield on Monday. Bryant is now averaging 16.0 assists per game, most among America East schools.
BLOCK PARTY
Bryant enters Friday ranked 11th nationally with 6.2 blocks per game. The Bulldogs have blocked 6+ shots in all but two games this season.
FIVE MORE THINGS TO KNOW
- Bryant has made 10+ three-point field goals in each of the last two games. The Bulldogs are shooting 37 percent from three and rank 13th nationally with 10.6 3pFG per game.
- Sherif Gross-Bullock is averaging a team-best 18.9 ppg following a 25-point effort against Springfield on Monday. He tied his career high with seven three-point field goals. SGB is now shooting 40 percent from three and ranks ninth nationally with 3.62 threes per game.
- Earl Timberlake has done a little bit of everything this year, entering Friday averaging 11.9 ppg, 9.3 rpg and 5.0 apg. He has four games with 10+ rebounds and has flirted with a triple-double on two occasions. Timberlake ranks 20th in the AE in scoring, first in rebounding and third in assists.
- Rafael Pinzon is second on the team with 12.5 points per game. He is shooting 41 percent from three, making 15-of-36 from beyond the arc.
- Daniel Rivera gives Bryant a fourth player in double-figures, averaging 10.0 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 2.0 apg and 2.1 bpg. He ranks 39th nationally in blocks per game.
