Bryant faces No. 10 FAU on Saturday night

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's basketball team takes on 2023 Final Four cinderella No. 10 Florida Atlantic on Saturday night in Boca Raton, Fla. Tip is set for 6:00 p.m.

FAU had a historic 22-23, going 35-4 and reaching the Final Four.

THE SERIES
Bryant and FAU met for the first time last season, an 85-74 victory for the Owls. A 17-5 run pulled the Bulldogs within two, 72-70, with 3:02 left. The Owls then missed two free throws but were able to grab the offensive rebound. Two successful free throws followed as FAU closed the game on a 13-4 run. Charles Pride scored 28 and Sherif Gross-Bullock posted 13. Bryant turned the ball over 21 times in the game. 

BRYANT FALLS AT BU
Bryant shot a season-best 45.6 percent from the field but Boston U made 14-of-28 from beyond the arc to earn a 95-79 win on Thursday night. The Bulldogs got 20-point performances from SGB (28) and Rafael Pinzon (21) in the loss. 

PINZON POSTS CAREER HIGH...AGAIN
Rafael Pinzon has recorded a new career high in each of Bryant's last three games. He started the run with 15 points on his birthday against Fisher. Pinzon then scored 15 second-half points and finished with 17 at Rutgers. At BU, Pinzon scored 18 first-half points and recorded his first-career 20-point game, finishing with 21.  

FIVE MORE THINGS TO KNOW

  1. Bryant will be facing a top-10 team for the first time since it opened the 2015-16 season at No. 5 Duke. The Bulldogs have never beaten a ranked opponent.  
  2. Sherif Gross-Bullock leads the Bulldogs with 19.8 ppg following a 28-point effort at BU. He made 8-of-14 from the field and also added five rebounds, four assists and three steals.  
  3. Daniel Rivera has protected the rim at a high rate this season, averaging 2.50 blocks per game through four games. He swatted a career-high four shots at BU.
  4. Earl Timberlake notched his second double-double of the year at BU (13p/11r) and now is averaging a double-double for the year with 10.3 ppg and 10.3 rpg. 
  5. Bryant has blocked at least seven shots in each of the first four games. The Bulldogs are sixth nationally with 7.5 blocks per game.
