Gallagher scores 20 in first AE win of the season against UNH

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Nicole Gallagher recorded a season-high 20 points and grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds in the Bryant Univerisity women's basketball team's 65-44 home win against New Hampshire.

Alana Perkins drained four three-pointers and tallied 16 points. Mariona Planes Fortuny posted 12 points and hauled in eight boards.

How it Happened

  • The Bulldogs jumped out to a 10-3 lead in the first six minutes of the game. Marta Neira Martinez scored the game's first basket, Fortuny poured in five, including a three, and Perkins nailed a corner triple on the assist from Megan Bodziony.
  • Bryant came out of the timeout on fire, going on a 16-8 run to close the quarter. Perkins hit two from deep, Gallagher scored seven, and Fortuny finished a strong and-one (26-11).
  • The Black and Gold scored six compared to the Wildcats' three heading into the second quarter media timeout (34-16). Stephanie Mayerhofer tallied two, Bodziony knocked down a mid-range jumper, and Gallagher scored on a strong take to the cup.
  • The half ended with both teams scoring two a piece. Gallagher scored 11 in the half.
  • UNH outdueled Bryant 8-5 in the first four minutes of the second half. Gallagher continued her hot night by nailing a three after a Wildcat's 5-0 run. Perkins hit a pull-up jumper before the media timeout (39-24).
  • Both teams tallied seven each for the remainder of the third quarter. Perkins made her fourth three of the day, Fortuny recorded two, and Gallagher added two.
