SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Ashley Barron scored her second goal of the season but it wasn't enough as the Bryant University field hockey team fell to Rider, 3-1, on Monday afternoon.

With the goal, the Bulldogs became the first NEC team to score on the Broncs this season.

• Sierra Giuliano scored her second goal of the game in the 46th minute to make it 3-0.    

SCORING SUMMARY

• Q1 - 8:03 - Julia Divorra took a feed from Carly Brosious and scored high in the left corner to make it 1-0.
• Q2 - 20:12 - Giuliano was able to convert a pass from Divorra, scoring inside the left post.
• Q4 - 45:36 - Giuliano fired home a shot off a penalty corner to make it 3-0.
• Q4 - 48:49 - Kylie Nelson carried the ball into the circle and threw it on goal. On the ensuing scramble, Barron was able to knock it home while on the ground. 

BULLDOGS NOTES AND NOTABLES

• Barron tied Nelson for the team lead with her second of the season. 
• Lyndsay Swanston made three saves in the second half.
• Marijn Jaarsma made three saves in the first half and then played in the field during the second half.
