WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – The Bryant University women's tennis team dropped a hard-fought match against Fairleigh Dickinson, 4-2, in the Northeast Conference semifinals on Friday morning.

How it Happened

• The Bulldogs started strong on Friday, claiming the doubles point with wins at 1 and 2. The Knights won at 3 but Ada Boru (Istanbul Turkey) and Sarah Hickey (Toronto, Ont.) won at 1, 6-4, and Megan Tan (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) and Aleksi Gottlieb (Plantation, Fla.) won a 2, 6-4.
• In singles, the Knights quickly grabbed a 3-1 lead with wins at 2, 4 and 6 before closing the match at 3.
• At 1, Boru dropped her first set but battled back to for a third set before going unfinished.
• At 3, Hickey won the first set in a tiebreak but couldn't find a victory in the final two sets.
• Gottlieb grabbed Bryant's only singles point, winning 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 at No. 5.
