WOMEN'S TENNIS FALLS TO QUINNIPIAC 7-0 SUNDAY

Freshman Claudia Hidalgo came back strong in the second set at
No. 1 singles Sunday against Quinnipiac only to fall 7-5.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women's
tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision Sunday to Quinnipiac University
on a cold and blustery afternoon at the Bryant Tennis Courts.
The Bulldogs dropped the doubles point to open the match as the
Bobcats (7-3) took all three doubles matches. In singles
play, Bryant's Claudia Hidalgo dropped a 6-1 decision in the
opener to QU's Mary Wilson, but the Bulldog freshman battled
back in the second only to come up short in falling 7-5.
Valeria Couto Cuervo battled hard at No. 2 singles before
falling to Rachel Cantor, 6-4, 6-2 while teammate Katie Francazio
fell to Sara Viebrock, 6-1, 6-4 at No. 4 singles.
