WOMEN'S TENNIS DROPS HOME MATCH WITH SACRED HEART 6-1

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The Bryant University women's tennis team
dropped a 6-1 decision to Sacred Heart Saturday evening at Rally
Point as the Pioneers took the doubles point to start the match and
took five of six singles to earn the win. Chelsea Downing and
Irma Rodriguez Lockwood played very well at No. 2 doubles, leading
late in the match before the Pioneers pulled away for an 8-6
win.
Bryant's lone win came at No. 1 singles where Claudia Hidalgo
played very well in defeating Kate Donnelly, 6-0, 6-1.
Perhaps the most exciting match of the evening came at No. 6
singles where Rodriguez Lockwood battled Delaney Downing to a third
set tiebreaker with a 6-4 win in the second set before falling 10-6
in the third.
