WOMEN'S SOCCER PLAYS TO SCORELESS TIE WITH SACRED HEART FRIDAY NIGHT

FAIRFIELD, CT - Senior goalkeepers Jessica Clark (Barnstable, Mass.) and Jessica Neales (Swansea, Mass.) combined to make nine stops in net for Bryant as the Bulldogs played to a 0-0 tie with Sacred Heart on a damp Friday night in Fairfield, Connecticut. Neales stopped seven shots while playing the last 65 minutes of the contest. Clark, who started the match, made two saves in her 45 minutes of play. On the other side, Sacred Heart keeper Meghan Reichelt (Selden, N.Y.) made five stops to get her first shutout this year. The tie moves the Bulldogs to 1-6-2 overall while the Pioneers record goes to 1-7-2.

Senior defender Danielle Malta (Bethel, Conn.) and junior midfielder Alex DiPippo (Shelton, Conn.) each played all 110 minutes for Bryant, helping the Bulldogs record their first shutout of the season. Forward Brooke Duchaney (Hampton Falls, N.H.) recorded two of the team's five shots on net, as the Bulldogs outshot the Pioneers 16-15.  Sacred Heart used just two substitutions all game, with nine players playing the entire match. Leading scorer Leigh Dogmantis (Walnutport, Pa.) put three shots on net for the Pioneers, who were shutout for the sixth time this season.

Bryant's game Sunday is cancelled against Quinnipiac. They will be back in action Wednesday, October 1st against Yale (7 p.m.).
