BRYANT WOMEN'S TENNIS DEFEATS PROVIDENCE
4-3
SMITHFIELD, RI - The Bryant University women's tennis opened
its first Division I season with a hard-fought 4-3 win over
visiting Providence College Saturday afternoon at the Bryant Tennis
Complex. The Bulldogs won the opening doubles point thanks to
a strong effort from Emma Czarnecki and Chelsea Downing. Tied
8-8, the Bulldog duo earned an 8-6 victory in the tie breaker,
giving the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead in the match.
In singles play, Czarnecki was again victorious at No. 1 singles
while Katie Francazio and Valeria Couto Cuervo won their respective
matches at No. 3 and No. 4 singles.
