BRYANT FALLS TO SACRED HEART, 7-2,
FRIDAY AFTERNOON
Boxscore
FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Despite 10 shots - seven on goal - from
sophomore Elise Boissoneau (Ashburnham, Mass.),
the Bryant University field hockey team fell to Sacred Heart
University, 7-2, Friday night.
Boissoneau's 10 shots led the game as Bryant (1-9) outshot the
Pioneers (3-7), 20-16. But Boissoneau's lone goal, which came
unassisted from the top of the circle in the 47th minute, coupled
with the goal of Colleen Wilson (Windham, N.H.) in
the 63rd minute, would not be enough to overcome a hat trick from
Carisa Eye and a pair of scores from Stephanie Fazio.
Junior goalkeeper Kundayi Mawema (Harare,
Zimbabwe) made five saves in the game, while the
combination of Whitney Mills and Kim Stow made 10 for Sacred Heart.
The Bulldogs return home for their next contest, hosting Rider
University at the Bryant Turf Complex for 2008 Senior Day, Sunday,
Oct. 5 at 12 p.m.
