EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - After splitting Friday
action at the East Stroudsburg Volleyball tournament, the Bulldogs
dropped a tough 3-1 decision to Kutztown on Saturday. The
Bulldogs opened with a strong 30-20 win in the first game, but
dropped the next three in tight contests, 30-28, 30-28,
30-27.
Likica Grceva had 13 kills and added seven digs defensively
while Julie Geonnotti had 12 kills and hit .385 with only two
attack errors on 26 attempts.
Senior setter Tiffany Garry had 48 assists plus four service
aces. The Bulldogs had 13 total aces in the match with
freshman Miranda Kolb recording a team-best six aces to go with
eight kills and four blocks. Classmate Adrienne Boss
added seven kills and eight block assists in the match.
Earlier in the day, the Bulldogs knocked off Tiffin, 3-1.
Game scores were 28-30, 30-28, 30-23, 30-23. Grceva, who was
named to the All-Tournament team, had 19 kills and 26 digs while
Geonnotti had 16 kills. Garry finished the match with 56
assists.
The Bulldogs will host Southern New Hampshire Tuesday night at 7
p.m. at the Chace Athletic Center.
