SMITHFIELD, RI - Likica Grceva (Natick,
Mass.) had 11 kills and sophomore Morgan Wood
(Cedar Park, TX) added 10 kills and two blocks to lead the
Bryant University volleyball team to a 3-0 win over UMass Lowell in
Northeast-10 Conference action at the Chace Athletic Center Tuesday
night.
The win by Bryant, the team's sixth in-a-row, improves the
Bulldogs' record to 8-7 and 3-0 in the Northeast-10.
UMass Lowell, led by Sarah Coscia's (Pittsfield,
Mass.) match-high 12 kills, dips to 4-9 overall (1-2
NE-10). The River Hawks were held to just .156 hitting in the
match and had 11 total service errors.
Grceva, this week's Northeast-10 Player of the Week, had three
of Bryant's nine service aces in the match. Setter
Tiffany Garry (Frankfort, IL), this week's NE-10
Setter of the Week after a stellar weekend at the Bryant
Invitational, had 34 assists plus four service aces. The four
aces puts her just three behind the all-time school record for
career service aces, currently held by Marcie Monaco '99 at
326.
Freshman Adrienne Boss (Dracut, Mass.) had a
solid match, hitting .462 with seven kills in 13 swings.
Bryant will travel to East Stroudsburg for a tournament this
Friday and Saturday.
