BOX SCORE

SMITHFIELD, RI - Bentley guard Jason Westrol (Brielle, NJ) scored 17 points on 7 of 10 shooting from the floor while Lew Finnegan (Lexington, MA) and Nate Fritsch (Durham, NC) each added 14 as the  top-ranked Falcons cruised to a 68-45 win over host Bryant University in Northeast-10 Conference action before 1,452 at the Chace Center Tuesday night.

Bentley (7-0, 5-0 NE-10) took control of this one right from the start, racing out to a quick 11-4 lead right out of the gate.  Three free throws from Pete Lambert (Cumberland, RI) pulled the Bulldogs to within a point, 12-13.  But that would be as close as the Bulldogs would come as the Falcons would blitz the Bulldogs with a 19-0 run over the next nine minutes and Bryant was never able to recover.

A Finnegan three pointer followed by two straight drives in the lane by Westrol helped key the run as Bryant's defense allowed the visitors to shoot 70 percent from the floor for much of the first half.

Bentley would cool off slightly, shooting 61 percent from the field at the break in taking a 34-16 lead into the locker room at the break.

Bryant (3-4, 2-3 NE-10) on the other hand, made just six field goals in the first half, going 6 for 21 (29 percent) from the floor as Bryant's starting five was held to just four points.

In the second half, Bryant's attempt to get back into the game was thwarted midway through the second half as a Westrol scored on a nice drive in the lane and drew a foul and later the sophomore guard closed the door with a deep three to make it 57-37 with 7:50 left and the Falcons cruised from there.

Bryant finished the game shooting 27.3 percent from the floor and were led by Jon Ezeokoli's (South Orange, NJ) 12 points while Lambert added 11 points off the bench.

Bryant will travel to Southern New Hampshire Saturday for a 3:30 pm game.
