BRYANT VOLLEYBALL DEFEATS MERRIMACK 3-0

SMITHFIELD, RI - Likica Grceva had 16 kills and Morgan
Wood added 12 kills to help lead the Bryant University women's
volleyball team to a 3-0 win over visiting Merrimack College in
Northeast-10 Conference action Tuesday at the Chace Athletic
Center. Game scores were 30-23, 30-19, 30-25.
Bryant (14-9, 6-0 NE-10), winners of five-straight matches,
remains in a tie for first place in the conference at 6-0 on the
year while Merrimack, which got 16 kills from Molly Cindric, drops
to 8-9 overall (5-2 NE-10).
The Bulldogs hit .229 offensively and set the tone for the match
with perhaps the team's best nights serving. Bryant
tallied 15 total service aces in the match including seven from
all-time career ace leader Tiffany Garry. Garry, who had 40
assists in the match, had just four service errors on the night and
added 15 digs defensively.
Wood, a sophomore, was on target throughout the match, hitting
.458 with just one error on 24 swings. In addition to her
three blocks, the middle hitter added career-best four service aces
in the match. Grceva, who was named the NE-10 Player of the
Week for the third consecutive week, hit .361 with 10 digs.
Merrimack hit .170 and got nine kills and seven digs from Jordan
Giboney while setter Elyse Lorenz ended the night with 36 assists.
The Bulldogs will host New Haven in a non-conference match this
Thursday at 7 pm.
