Bryant (11-4), the No. 3 seed of the tournament, will advance to the conference semifinals for the third-straight season next Wednesday when the Bulldogs travel to North Andover, MA to face second-seeded Merrimack College at Warrior Field.

Saturday was the second meeting of the season between Bryant and Southern N.H. (6-8) as the Bulldogs pulled out a 16-10 win over the Penmen back on April 12.  And just like the first meeting that featured hard-nosed play by both teams, this afternoon's meeting featured excellent play on both ends of the field.

Bryant struck for two quick goals to open the match, but Southern New Hampshire, quickly responded with three unanswered goals - two by John Delanoy (Lansdale, Pa.) to give the visitors a 3-2 advantage.

Tied 5-5 late in the second quarter, Bryant senior all-American defenseman Tim Duffany (East Falmouth, Mass.) made a fine defensive play behind the Bryant goal that helped start a strong offensive rush by the Bulldogs.  Freshman Matt McKeefrey (Melville, NY) found classmate Bryan Kaufmann (Putnam Valley, NY) in front to the Penmen goal to give the Bulldogs a 6-5 advantage.

Southern N.H. would counter as the always dangerous Joe Young (Derry, NH) took advantage of a Bryant turnover and beat Bulldog keeper Michael Kennedy (Port Jefferson, NY) to tie the game 6-6 heading into the halftime break.

In the second half, Bryant quickly raced ahead 9-6 before Young answered with a short-handed goal to trim the lead down to 9-7, but Storoshenko would add two fourth quarter goals to send the Bulldogs into the conference semifinals.

Young finished with three goals while Delanoy added a pair for the Penmen.  Bryant and Merrimack last met on April 15 with the Warriors winning 14-13 in overtime.  This will also be the second-straight conference semifinal meeting between Bryant and Merrimack as the Bulldogs pulled out a 10-9 in overtime last year in North Andover.   The Northeast-10 Conference championship will be held next Saturday.
