BRYANT MEN'S LACROSSE DEFEATS ASSUMPTION
16-3
SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Freshman
Bryan Kauffman (Putnam Valley, NY) scored four
goals while senior Jedd Storoshenko (Bayville, NY)
and freshman Kevin Hoagland (Glastonbury, NY) each
added three goals to help lead the Bryant University men's lacrosse
team to a 16-3 win over Assumption College in Northeast-10
Conference action Wednesday at Bulldog Stadium.
The win gives Bryant 10 victories on
the year for the fifth-straight season as the Bulldogs improve to
10-4 overall and 8-2 in league play. Assumption falls to
4-10, 2-8 in conference.
Bryant wasted little time in racing out
to a quick 6-0 lead on the Greyhounds as Hoagland, Kaufmann, and
Storoshenko each netted a pair of girls before Assumption's Bryan
Parks scored to make it 6-1 midway through the second
quarter.
Parks would score three-straight for Assumption to cut the
Bryant lead in half, 6-3 with just under five minutes left before
halftime, but Matt McKeefrey (Melville, NY) -
left- and Hoagland answered with goals just before the half to give
the Bulldogs an 8-3 advantage at the break.
Bryant outscored Assumption 8-0 in the second
half as the Bulldogs will return to action Saturday hosting
Southern N.H. in a Northeast-10 Conference Quarterfinal round game
at Bulldog Stadium this Saturday starting at 1 pm.
