Hoagland (Glastonbury,
Conn.) scored three goals while
Adam Smith (Bainbridge Island, WA) added two goals
plus three assists to help lead the eighth-ranked Bulldogs to a
16-8 win over visiting Saint Anselm College in Northeast-10
Conference lacrosse action here Wednesday afternoon.
Bryant (3-1, 1-0 NE-10) fell behind 2-0 early as Saint Anselm got
goals from Chris Murphy (Winchester, MA) and
Steve Trocki (Braintree, MA) to start the game
before Bryan Kauffman (Putnam Valley, NY)
put the Bulldogs on the board with a man-advantage goal at 6:21 of
the first.
Saint Anselm (1-4, 0-2 NE-10) would take a 3-2 lead into the second
quarter before Bryant scored six unanswered goals in the quarter to
take a 7-3 lead as Hoagland notched a pair of even-strength tallies
to key the spurt.
Leading 7-4 at the half, Bryant would stretch its lead to 11-5
after a goal from Steve Coppinger
(Bethesda,
Md.) and Bryant would roll from
there. Coppinger, a senior preseason all-America selection,
finished with two goals in the game.
Bryan Molk (Peabody,
MA) had a goal and added four
assists. Saint Anselm was led by
Murphy's four goals. Bryant will travel to Pace
University Saturday for a 1 pm game.
