SMITHFIELD, RI - The Bryant University football team wrapped up its regular season with a convincing 42-0 win over visiting Becker College Saturday at Bulldog Stadium. The Bulldogs scored 35 points on 12 plays in the first quarter alone and were never threatened.

The win, Bryant's eighth of the year, sets a new school record for wins in a season as the Bulldogs end the regular season 8-2.  Bryant will await word on an NCAA Division II playoff bid when the field is announced on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Lorenzo Perry (Providence, RI) rushed for 94 yards and two touchdowns on just four carries while junior quarterback Charlie Granatell (Franklin Lakes, NJ) completed 3 of 4 passes for 42 yards and a touchdown before Bryant sent in the reserves after the first quarter of play.

Granatell connected with Justin Kix (Shoreham, NY) in the back of end zone on Bryant's first possession to cap a six-play drive.  For Kix, the touchdown was the 14th of his career, setting a new school record for career touchdown receptions.

Two Perry touchdown runs, including a 54 yard burst up the middle on the team's first play on their second possession, and other touchdown run of 18 yards, gave the Bulldogs a quick 21-0 lead.  Chris Peaks (Silver Spring, Md.) added six-yard touchdown run up the middle and backup quarterback Ross Giffune (Foxboro, Mass.) connected with wide receiver Americo Mallozzi (Smithfield, RI) for a score down the right sideline to give the Bulldogs a 35-0 lead after one quarter of play.

Bryant finished the game with 429 yards of total offense to just 47 yards for Becker.  The Hawks, a Division III school from Worcester, Mass. were held to only 39 yards rushing and eight yards passing in falling to 1-9 on the season.  Darius Carey rushed for 17 yards on six carries while Eric Windley added 13 yards rushing.

Justin Williams (Hampton, NH) had 65 yards on seven carries as the Bulldog defense limited Becker to just three first downs in the game.
