THIS WEEK
The Bryant University football team hosts first-place C.W.
Post Saturday afternoon in a battle for a share of first place in
the Northeast-10 Conference on the line. The Pioneers are
undefeated in conference play at 4-0 this season while Bryant
brings a 4-1 conference mark into today's game. American
International, idle last week, has just one loss on the season
(3-1) heading into Saturday's game at Merrimack.
Last week, Bryant won its third-straight game, 31-17 at Pace
University while C.W. Post shutout Saint Anselm 34-0 at home.
Bryant is 0-5 all-time vs. C.W. Post, but the Bulldogs bring an
eight-game win streak at Bulldog Stadium. The game will be
broadcast live online by College Sports Television at CSTV.com.
LAST WEEK: Bryant 31, Pace 17
Senior running back Lorenzo Perry (Providence, RI) rushed for 200
yards and scored twice to help lead the Bryant University football
team to its third-straight win, 31-17 over Pace University Saturday
afternoon before 2,482 at Pace Field. The Bulldogs fell
behind early in the first as Setter quarterback Daniel Moyer
connected with Chris Ansanzo for a 62-yard touchdown pass on the
second play of the game. But Bryant would answer immediately on its
next drive. Jon Zenquis (Northbridge, Mass.) helped set up a
five-play scoring drive with a 29-yard kick return to the Bryant 42
yard line. From there, quarterback Charles Granatell
(Franklin Lakes, NJ) and the Bulldogs put together a strong drive
highlighted by a 31 yard completion to Sean Bergin down to the Pace
6 yard line. On the very next play, Perry would punch it in
to tie the game, 7-7 with 11:53 left.
Granatell finished the game completing 10 of 14 passes for
179 yards while Kix had 5 receptions for 89 yards. Perry
carried the ball 33 times in the game including a long rush of 49
yards in the third quarter. For Perry, the 200 yards
rushing in the game marked the 10th time the senior has gone over
the 100-yard rushing mark in a game and the fourth game of his
Bryant career with at least 200 yards in a game.
The Bulldogs held Pace to just 76 yards rushing in the
game. Freshman Paul Polomski (Franklin, Mass.) had 10
tackles while senior Andrew McLarty (College Park, Md.) had
eight tackles - six of which were solo stops.
THE BULLDOGS VS. CW POST

football, sport a 4-0 all-time record against the Bulldogs
including last year's 37-15 win at Brookville, NY. This will
be the third game between the two teams played at Bulldog
Stadium.

QUICK GLANCE AT C.W. POST
The Pioneers, under the direction of ninth-year
coach Bryan Collins, were the preseason favorites to win the
conference this season by the conference coaches, and have so far
proved the predictions correct. The lone loss this season was a
24-0 nonconference setback at 14th-ranked Shepherd back on Sept.
16. Since then, CW Post has knocked off Stonehill 24-20 and
Saint Anselm 34-0. Anthony Lazarus leads the team with an
average of 82.8 yards rushing per game (414 total, 7 TDs) while
quarterback Nick Georgetti has completed 61 of 120 passes for 668
yards and 5 TDs. Defensively, CW Post is No. 1 in the
conference in rush defense, allowing just 65.6 yards per
game, and No. 1 in pass defense in 123.6 yards passing per
game.
PERRY RACKING UP THE YARDS ... AND POINTS
Senior tailback Lorenzo Perry, a two-time NE-10 Conference Player
of the Week and Boston Globe Gold Helmet Award winner as the New
England Player of the back in September, leads the NE-10 this
season with 879 yards rushing and is second with 175.8 yards per
game. The school's all-time record holder with 26 career
rushing touchdowns, Perry has 10 TDs this season (all
rushing) for a conference best 60 points. While Bryant is
leading the conference wtih 33.2 points per game, Perry is
averaging a healthy 12 points scored in each game this
season. Anthony Lazarus of CW Post is second with 42 points
(8.4 points scored per game). He has 2,214 yards rushing in
14 career games for the Bulldogs (158.1 average) over the past two
seasons.
GRANATELL THIRD TO BE NAMED PLAYER OF WEEK
Junior quarterback Charlie Granatell (Franklin Lakes, NJ / Ramapo)
has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Football Offensive
Player of the Week for his performance vs. Assumption Sept.
23. Granatell completed 17 of 27 passes for 267 yards and
tied a school record with four touchdown passes in Bryant's 45-21
win over Assumption College (Mass.) last Saturday.
Granatell is the third Bryant player to earn the weekly conference
honor with Lorenzo Perry recognized twice already this year (Sept.
5 and Sept. 18).
