- The Bryant University Men's Soccer team defeated the Stonehill
College Skyhawks 2-0 Tuesday afternoon at Bulldog Stadium.
Freshman Matthew Brown (South Easton,
Mass.) continued his hot streak, scoring a goal in his
third straight game to give the Bulldogs the 1-0 lead.
Bryan Gravel (Londonderry, N.H.) picked up the
assist on Brown's fourth tally of the season.
Senior Sam Grande (Herkimer, N.Y.) put the
match away in the 80th minute, scoring his second of the
year, off a rebound that was set up by a Matt Amsden (N.
Providence, RI) corner kick.
Making his second straight start in net, senior Alex
Bissias (Harpswell, ME) stopped four shots and picked up
his first win and shutout of the season.
Bryant controlled the play throughout the contest, peppering
freshman goaltender Brian Guerrini, who stopped 13 shots in the
match and faced numerous point-blank chances.
Bryant (6-3-3, 4-3-3 NE-10) will head to 24th-ranked
Merrimack for a big match Saturday (2:30 p.m.).
