Waltham, Mass - In a game that
featured 39 total shots and 29 of them on goal, the Bryant
University Field Hockey team dropped a tough match Tuesday night to
#2 Bentley 3-1 in Waltham, Mass.
Caitlan Johnson (Walpole, Mass.) scored the
Bulldogs' lone goal, her fifth of the season to tie the score at
one in the 19th minute off a penalty corner.
Laynie Sadler (Rehoboth, Mass.) and
Kristin Tighe (North Easton, Mass.) picked up the
assists.
Sadler now has a point on Bryant's last ten goals.
Bryant fired an impressive 12 shots at Falcons goaltender Alyssa
Sliney but she came up big making 11 saves. Shana Libman
(Attleboro, Mass.) led the way with seven shots.
The Bulldogs spent the entire second half, pressing offensively
trying to tie it up, but their chances of a comeback were ruined
when Mary Rogers scored in the final minute.
Kundayi Mawema (Hare, Zimbabwe) turned in one
of her best performances of the season in goal making 14 saves.
The Bulldogs (6-7, 5-5 NE-10) visit St. Anselms Thursday (3:30
p.m.).
