Women's Basketball Falls to Bentley, 85-69
Thursday
WALTHAM, Mass. - Joanna Skiba scored 24 points including five
three-point field goals, but it was not enough as the Bryant
women's basketball team dropped an 85-69 decision at Bentley
College Thursday night at the Dana Center. Shannon Perry
notched her fourth-straight double-double with 14 points and 11
rebounds in 27 minutes of action. The Bulldogs will host Stonehill
College Saturday for a 1:30 pm game at the Chace Athletic Center.
Lauren Rubenoff tied a career high with 14 points and added six
rebounds as the Bulldogs trailed 47-34 at the half after shooting
just 36 percent from the floor in the first 20 minutes.
Bryant would close to with eight points midway through the
second half, but strong outside shooting by the Falcons helped the
hosts pull away. Bentley made 10 three-point field goals in
the game and were led by Shannon Kirwan's career-high 19 points and
career-high 12 assists. All six of Kirwan's basket came from
beyond the three-point arc. She led five Bentley players in double
figures. The win marked the 700th for Bentley coach Barbara
Stevens.
