Bryant Field Hockey defeats Franklin Pierce
1-0 in overtime
Rindge, NH - The Bryant University field hockey team defeated
Franklin Pierce 1-0 in overtime on Saturday, September 10. The
Bulldogs were led by junior Michaela Dwyer
(Buskirk, NY) who scored the game winning goal.
The Bulldogs came away with the victory by relentlessly
attacking in the overtime session. Bryant outshot Franklin Pierce
7-0 in overtime. Dwyer put home the game winner off a penalty
corner at 78:48. This was her first goal of the season.
Bryant had solid play from sophomore goalie Kasey
Kortz (Louisville, KY) who had six saves. The Bulldogs
also, had a 12-3 edge in penalty corners and took advantage of a
big one in overtime.
This win gets Bryant back to .500 with an overall record of 3-3
and a 2-2 Northeast-10 Conference record.
Bryant will visit Bentley on Wednesday, September 14 with a game
start time of 7:00pm.
