Bryant Volleyball Defeats Bentley, 3-2 To Win NE-10

PLEASANTVILLE, NY - Second-seeded Bryant University rallied back to
defeat top-seeded Bentley College 3-2 to capture the program's
third-straight Northeast-10 Conference tournament title Saturday
night.
Bentley won the first match, 30-24 before dropping the second game,
30-22. Bentley led the fourth game, 22-16, before Bryant went
on a 14-3 run to even the match at 2-2. Bentley led once
again in the fifth game, 7-5, before Bryant went off on a 10-5 win
to come away with the win and the Northeast-10 Conference
Volleyball Championship.
For Bryant, Michelle Muniz
(Guaynabo, PR) finished
with 21 kills and 30 digs on her way to being named the 2005
Northeast-10 Conference Volleyball Champsionship Most Valuable
Player. Jessica Cegarra
(Danville,
NH) finished with 16 kills and a
team-high five blocks while Tiffany Garry
(Frankfort,
IL) had 53 assists, 12 digs and
three aces. Maureen Atkins
(Fenton,
MO) had 18 digs in the win.
For Bentley, Amber Gracey (Saline, MI) finished
with 17 kills and 13 digs. Susan Harrahy
(Nashua,
NH) totaled 14 kills and eight
digs. Christina Sadowski
(Salem,
NH) finished with 13 kills, six
digs and eight blocks. Kate Markstein
(La Jolla,
CA) finished with 19 digs and two
aces en route to being named to the all-tournament team.
