Bulldogs finish the regular season unbeaten
at home with 1-0 win over Assumption
Smithfield, RI- The Bryant University
men's soccer team welcomed the Greyhounds of Assumption to
Bulldog Stadium on Tuesday afternoon October 18. Bryant won the
game 1-0 to improve their overall record to 7-4-4 and 6-3-3 in
Northeast-10 Conference play. The Greyhounds drop to 1-13-0 overall
and 1-11-0 in NE-10 action.
After a scoreless first half Bryant got on the board 15
minutes into the second half. On Bryant University Senior Day
junior Patrick Doherty (Easton, MA) stole the show
scoring the games only goal on a shot that tipped off the
goalkeeper's hands and bounced into the net.
The Bulldogs finish their regular season home schedule unbeaten
with a record of 5-0-2. They are also unbeaten in their last five
contests allowing only two goals over that span.
Junior goalkeeper Alex Bissias (Harpswell, ME)
made two saves notching his fourth win of the season.
Greyhound goalkeeper Brett Miller (Franklin,
MA) had a solid game in net making 10 saves. Bryant held a 15-1
advantage in corner kicks.
The Bulldogs will visit American International on Saturday, October
22 at 11:00am for their final regular season game.
