Bryant University Director of Athletics Bill Smith has announced the hiring of Morgan Walsh as head coach of the Bryant Women's Bowling program.

The women's bowling program is one of three programs, including women's golf and women's rowing, that will become varsity programs starting with the 2022-2023 academic year.

Walsh led the Bulldogs to their first ECC championship and NC bowling championship appearance in program history in the 2025-26 season. Bryant finished the regular season with their best record in program history, going 55-32. Walsh was named the ECC Coach of the Year for the second time in her career, she also received the award in 2024. She also led the Bulldogs to their first national ranking in program history, going as high as No. 18 in the National Tenpin Coaches Association Poll. The Bulldogs collected 13 wins over ranked opponents, including defeating No. 6 Arkansas State in the Destination Orlando tournament in October.

In the 2025-26 season, the Bulldogs were led by ECC Bowler of the Year and First Team All-ECC selection Olivia Hillman. They also had three other All-ECC selections, with Laura Clark and Madison Damer being named to the First Team and Madison Lewis being named to the Second Team. 

In the 2024-25 season, the Bulldogs finished with a 41-56 overall record. They earned a 3rd place finish in the ECC championships. Laura Clark was named to the First Team All-Conference and the ECC All-Tournament team. 

In the 2023-24 season, the Bulldogs finished with a 46-50 overall record. They were the runner up in the ECC championships, falling to Mercyhurst. Walsh earned her first career Coach of the Year Award and Bryant had three All-Conference selections. Laura Clark was named to the First Team, Olivia Hillman was named to the Second Team, and Abby Unson was named to the Third Team. 

In their inaugural season in 2022-23, the Bulldogs finished with a 33-61 overall record. 

Walsh arrives in Smithfield after spending the last two years as an assistant coach with the women's bowling program at Medaille College. She helped Medaille win a conference championship and advance to the second round of the NCAA Championships.

During her playing days, Walsh enjoyed an outstanding career at both Fairleigh Dickinson and Medaille. At FDU, she helped the Knights win the 2017 Northeast Conference Championship and earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

Walsh excelled at Medaille in her hometown of Buffalo, earning 2019 Medaille College Female Athlete of the Year honors. She helped Medaille win a pair of AMCC titles and advance to the 2019 NCAA Tournament.

Walsh was also awarded National Tenpin Coaches Association Academic All-American honors all four years of her career. She was also a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma National Collegiate Student-Athlete Honor Society.
