Hannah Prince

The Bryant University Athletic Department and head coachShaunessy Sauicer are pleased to announce theaddition of Hannah Prince to the Bryant Universityfield hockey coach staff for the upcoming 2014 fall season.

“I’m very pleased to welcome Hannah Prince to ourcoaching staff,” said Saucier. “She comes in highlyrecommended with a love for the game, a passion for coaching, and agreat work ethic. Hannah will add a wealth of knowledge to our teamthrough her playing experience at UMass, as well as on the USA U-21National Team.”

A former UMass Amherst field hockey standout, Prince spent thelast four seasons helping anchor the Minutewomen midfield anddefensive backline, helping lead her squad to three NCAA SweetSixteen appearances (2010, 2012-13) and a run to the Elite 8 as asenior this fall. A four-year starter under coaches Justine Sowryand Carla Tagliente, Prince tallied 37 points in 87 careercontests, including a single-season career-high 28 points as asenior en route to NFHCA First Team All-Region, First TeamAll-Atlantic 10, and ECAC First Team All-Star recognition.

As a member of the US National Program, Prince was one of 18student-athletes selected from across the country to represent theUnited States with the 2013 U-21 National Team, the 2013 JuniorWorld Cup, the Women’s National Championship (2012-13), andthe Junior Women’s National Championship (2011, 2013).

Aside from her outstanding career on the field, Prince has spentthe last few years working as a coach with Element Athletics as aU-19 Coach and with USA Field Hockey as a New England Level 1Futures Assistant Coach.

“Hannah has a lot of passion and is eager to share herknowledge of the game,” noted Saucier. “She is aperfect fit to help continue to build our program and both on thefield and in the classroom.”

A Gorham, Maine native, Prince graduated from UMass Amherst witha degree in public health and a minor in Psychology.
