As a sophomore: Made 16 appearances, earning 13 starts in the pitching circle in 2014 … Finished the season 5-7 overall, posting a 5.36 ERA in 66.2 innings to go along with 22 strikeouts … Picked up three-straight wins vs. Buffalo (March 14), vs. St. Joe’s (March 15), and vs. Yale (March 22) … Shut out Buffalo on March 14 in 1-0 victory, allowing only three hits in seven innings of work ... Named to NEC Academic Honor Roll.
As a freshman: Established herself as a solid option out of the Bryant bullpen, making 13 appearances in relief inside the pitching circle … Posted a 3.42 era in 14.1 innings pitched to go along with a trio of strikeouts … Did not allow a single earned run in her final four appearances (seven innings), giving up just six hits in that time span.
Before Bryant: Hailing from the Golden State, the right-handed throwing Saunders will compliment Madsen as the second pitcher in the Class of 2016. A native of Laguna Niguel, Calif., Saunders has started at Alisa Niguel H.S. for the past two seasons, and will be at the top of the rotation again in 2012. She also plays club with the American Athletics travel team.
