Laura Stypula was named the OVC Freshman of the Year, and three Bulldogs earned All-OVC honors, announced by the conference on Thursday afternoon.
Laura Stypula | OVC Freshman of the Year
- This is the first time a Bulldog has won OVC Freshman of the Year.
- Stypula owns a 10-9 overall singles record. She is 8-6 in dual matches at No. 2 and 3 singles this spring.
- She is 12-8 overall in doubles with Yahli Noy. They are 9-3 in dual matches at No. 3 doubles this spring and 10-5 overall in dual matches.
- Overall, she is 13-9 in doubles play this season and 11-5 in dual matches.
Yahli Noy | First Team All-OVC
- Noy is a First Team selection for the second consecutive season.
- In singles play, is 21-10 overall, 10-4 in tournaments, and 11-6 in dual matches at the No. 1 spot.
- Won the Flight A Singles Championship in the OVC Fall Invitational back in September.
- Represented Bryant at the ITA Conference Masters Championship back in November, one of 30 players in the country representing their respective conference. Defeated Elon and advanced to the Round of 16 before falling to Pepperdine.
- Overall, she is 14-8 in doubles play this season and 11-5 in dual matches.
Natalia Vela | Second Team All-OVC
- Vela is an All-Conference selection for the second consecutive season.
- In singles play, she is 12-8 overall, 3-1 in tournaments, and 9-7 in dual matches at the No. 2 spot.
- Primarily played No. 2 singles but went 3-0 at the No. 1 spot this spring.
Vela/Maria Jose Hernandez | All-OVC Doubles Team
- Selected to the All-OVC Doubles Team for the second consecutive season.
- The No. 1 doubles pair is 19-7 overall, 13-4 in dual matches, and 6-3 in tournaments.
- They've gone 8-2 in their last 10 matches at No. 1 doubles.
- Advanced to the Flight A Doubles Championship in the OVC Fall Invitational.
- Picked up 2 wins over URI and Quinnipiac in the Doubles Main Draw of the ITA Regionals back in October.
