MEN’S LACROSSE DEFEATS VERMONT

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Zac Amend recorded four goals to lift the Bryant University men's lacrosse team to a win over Vermont, 11-8, on Saturday evening.

Bryant travels to Baltimore next Saturday to square off against UMBC. The Black and Gold currently have a record of 3-4.

Luke Krebs forced a Vermont turnover in the last minute of game to keep the Catamounts out of reach.

How it Happened:

  • Bryant opened the game with a 3-0 run through the first eight minutes of action.
  • Vermont closed out the first quarter with two goals.
  • The two teams traded three goals in the second quarter, capped off by Luca Elmaleh's second goal of the evening with nine seconds to go in the quarter.
  • Vermont clawed back into the game in the third period. The Catamounts went on a 3-1 through the quarter to thrust themselves into the lead up 8-7.
  • Bryant tied the game with 12:51 to go thanks to a strike from Caden Lennon.
  • The Black and Gold managed to score three more goals through the rest of the game while shutting out the Catamount offense.
