SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant women's lacrosse team recorded their third consecutive win on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Vermont Catamounts 8-7 in the America East conference opener at Beirne Stadium.

With the win, Bryant moves to 6-3 on the year. The Bulldogs take on Brown on Tuesday on the road.

Emily DeGeorge and Ashling Marshall each recorded hat tricks for the Bulldogs. DeGeorge now has 24 goals in eight games this season and has back-to-back hat tricks. Marshall recorded her first career hat trick.

• It was a defensive battle for the first 13 minutes on Saturday as the score remained 0-0.
• Marshall lifted the lid as she converted a free position goal with 1:51 remaining.
• DeGeorge added a second with just nine seconds left as the Bulldogs led 2-0 after one quarter.
• The Catamounts would tie the game at 2-2 late in the second quarter but DeGeorge struck for a pair in the final 1:16 of the half.
• DeGeorge finished a feed from Grayson Woodward to break the tie and then potted a free position goal as time was expiring to make it 4-2 at the break.
