WOMEN’S LACROSSE TO BATTLE NO. 25 HARVARD UNDER THE LIGHTS ON WEDNESDAY

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women's lacrosse team returns home on a short week and will host No. 25 Harvard under the lights at Beirne Stadium on Wednesday, Feb 18. First draw is set for 6:00 p.m.

THE SERIES
  • The Bulldogs enter Wednesday 0-3 in the all-time series with the Crimson.
  • The two teams most recently faced off last season and saw Harvard come away with a 23-12 road victory.
  • Wednesday will mark the first time Bryant will host Harvard in its series history. Harvard has hosted all three matchups dating back to 2010.
  • Last year, Gabriella Constant led the Black and Gold's offensive with five points (4g, 1a) in the loss.
LAST TIME OUT
  • After a scoreless first quarter and an 8-0 opening run by Dartmouth, Bryant fell to the Big Green by a final score of 19-6 last Saturday.
  • Elise Larsen and Riley O'Mara led the offense for the Bulldogs, each tallying a pair of goals in the loss. Emma Wymes tallied her second goal of the season and Eli Torbay recorded her first career goal with time expiring in the contest.
  • Kaelynn O'Brien led the defense for Bryant with five caused turnovers and five ground balls. Jessica Wilhelm scooped six ground balls and caused a pair of turnovers. Harper McGinley logged two caused turnovers and a ground ball.
NATIONAL NOISE
  • Bryant currently ranks second in the nation in scoring defense (2.50), trailing only fellow America East opponent UMBC.
  • The Bulldogs rank third in the NCAA and lead the America East in draw control percentage (.783).
  • The Black and Gold are second in the conference and 38th in the NCAA for assists per game (6.00).
  • The Bulldogs are 15th in the country and second in the America East in save percentage (.545).
  • Elise Larsen ranks second in the America East and cracks the top 50 nationally in assists so far this season (4.00).
SCOUTING THE CRIMSON
  • No. 25 Harvard opened its season with a 10-7 loss to No. 16 Notre Dame on Sunday Feb. 15. The Crimson led by as much as six goals in the contest before Notre Dame scored 10 of the game's final 11 goals to secure the victory.
  • Harvard's offense was led by Charlotte Hodgson who finished the day with four points (1g, 3a). Grace Mullahy notched a hat-trick with three goals in the game.
  • Last season, the Crimson posted a 9-6 overall record, including a 3-4 mark against conference opponents. Harvard did not qualify for Ivy League postseason play.
  • Harvard was picked fifth out of eight teams in the Ivy League Preseason Poll. The defending conference champion, Princeton took home the top spot in the poll.
  • Harvard is coached by Devon Willis, who is in her fifth season at the helm.
