MEN’S TENNIS BEGINS SPRING SEASON THIS WEEKEND

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant men's tennis team kicks off their spring season this weekend with a pair of matches against Le Moyne and Dartmouth.

Both matches will be hosted by the Big Green in Hanover, NH. Bryant will face Le Moyne on Saturday then Dartmouth on Sunday.

Bryant prepares for their first season competing in the Big South Conference.

The doubles pair of Daniel Baquero and Miguel Angel Machado impressed in the fall season, making a run to the ITA semifinals. They picked up one of the biggest wins in program history, defeating the No. 1 seed in the region Yale. They also defeated the No. 8 seed in the region Dartmouth, and Boston College, before falling to Cornell.

They also had a great showing at the ITA sectionals, defeating Virginia Tech before falling to the No. 1 seed Penn.

Machado's singles play was also noteworthy during the fall season, advancing to the Big South singles championship, but Longwood proved to be victorious. Will Pellegrini also represented the Bulldogs in the singles main draw, picking up a pair of wins over Presbyterian, before falling short in the semifinals.

The Bulldogs first home match will take place on January 31 against Brandeis at Fore Court in Cumberland, RI. First serve is at 1:00 PM.
